Connect your first channel

On this page

You need: a Robopost account, and the login for the social account you want to post to.

A channel is one account Robopost can publish to, such as a Facebook Page or an Instagram account. Most networks take under a minute.

Connect a channel in five steps

  1. In the sidebar, click Channels → Connect channel.
  2. Click the card for your network, for example Facebook Page or Instagram business.
  3. Robopost sends you to the network. Sign in with the account that manages the Page or profile.
  4. The network shows what Robopost is asking to do. Leave every permission switched on and approve.
  5. Back in Robopost, if a list of Pages, boards, channels or locations appears, switch on the ones you want and click Connect.

How you know it worked

  • A green "Successfully connected" message appears.
  • The channel is listed in Channels → Channels with a Connected badge.
  • When you write a post, the channel is there to pick under Select channels.

Tip

Want a client to connect their own account, without sharing a password with you? Click Request channel connection at the top of the Connect channel screen. See Connect a channel.

Step-by-step guide for each network

Each network has its own account rules. If something doesn't look right, open the guide for your network:

If it doesn't work

  • You don't see Connect channel in the sidebar. Your role doesn't include channel management. Ask a team Admin to give you the Manage Channels right, or to connect the channel for you.
  • "Plan Limit Hit" or "You can only add up to … channels with your current plan". Your plan's channel limit is reached. Disconnect a channel you no longer use, or upgrade in Account → Subscription.
  • "We could not find any data." The account you signed in with doesn't manage any Page, board or location Robopost can publish to. Check the requirements in your network's guide above.
  • "This channel already exists". You were still signed in to an account that's already connected. Sign out of the network in your browser (or use a private window) and try again.
