Connect Bluesky
On this page
You need: your Bluesky handle or account email, and a Bluesky App Password. Your main Bluesky password won't work.
Create a Bluesky App Password
- Open bsky.app/settings/app-passwords and sign in.
- Add a new App Password and give it a name you'll recognize, such as the name of this tool.
- Copy the password Bluesky shows. You won't see it again.
The Create an App password link in Robopost's Bluesky window opens the same page.
Connect your Bluesky account
- Go to Channels → Connect channel and click Bluesky.
- In the Bluesky channel connect window, fill in:
- Handle or email: your handle without the "@", such as
yourname.bsky.social, your custom-domain handle, such asexample.com, or the email address of your Bluesky account. - App password: the App Password you just created.
- Handle or email: your handle without the "@", such as
- Click Connect.
"Successfully connected" appears, and the account is listed in Channels → Channels.
Tip
Typed the "@" anyway? Robopost removes it for you.
Reconnect your Bluesky account
If you revoke the App Password in Bluesky, or the channel shows Reconnect Required:
- Create a new App Password in Bluesky.
- In Robopost, open the channel's Settings and click Refresh Channel Connection.
- Enter your handle or email and the new App Password, then click Connect.
Robopost updates the existing channel in place: its scheduled posts and settings stay as they are.
Troubleshooting
"Enter your Bluesky handle (yourname.bsky.social), your custom domain (e.g. yourdomain.com), or your account email."
What you typed in Handle or email isn't a handle or an email address. Enter the full handle including its
domain, such as yourname.bsky.social, not just yourname.
"Bluesky rejected the login. Check your handle or email and make sure you are using a valid App password."
- Check the handle or email for typos.
- Make sure you pasted an App Password, not your main password, and that it hasn't been revoked.
- If your custom-domain handle isn't verified on Bluesky, sign in with your account email instead.
"Your Bluesky account requires a sign-in code (two-factor authentication). Please use an App password instead."
You entered your main password, and your account has two-factor sign-in on. App Passwords skip the sign-in code: create one and use it.
"Bluesky is temporarily limiting login attempts. Please wait a few minutes and try again."
Too many attempts in a short time. Wait a few minutes, then try once with the correct App Password.
"These credentials belong to a different Bluesky account than this channel."
You were refreshing a channel but signed in with another Bluesky account. Use the handle and an App Password of the account the channel belongs to. To add a different account, use Connect channel instead.
