Connect LinkedIn
On this page
You need: a LinkedIn account. To connect a company Page, your personal profile must be a Super admin or Content admin of that Page.
LinkedIn has two cards on the Connect channel screen:
- LinkedIn Profile posts as you, on your personal profile.
- LinkedIn Page posts as a company Page you manage.
Connect your LinkedIn profile
- Go to Channels → Connect channel and click LinkedIn Profile.
- LinkedIn opens. Sign in if asked.
- Review the permissions LinkedIn lists and click Allow.
- Robopost shows Connect Linkedin profile with "Successfully connected". Click Close.
Your profile is listed in Channels → Channels.
Connect a LinkedIn Page
- Go to Channels → Connect channel and click LinkedIn Page.
- LinkedIn opens. Sign in with the personal profile that's an admin of the Page.
- Review the permissions and click Allow.
- Robopost opens Connect Linkedin page with the Pages you admin. Turn on each Page you want.
- Click Connect.
"Successfully connected" appears, and each Page is listed in Channels → Channels.
What LinkedIn asks you to allow
Robopost uses one set of permissions for both cards. LinkedIn lists them all: your basic profile and email address, posting on your behalf, administering the Pages you manage and reading and posting their content, and access to your ad accounts.
Troubleshooting
I saw LinkedIn's "Bummer, something went wrong" screen
That error used to appear when connecting a LinkedIn Page, and it's fixed. Try again: Channels → Connect channel → LinkedIn Page.
My LinkedIn Page doesn't appear in the list
The list shows "We could not find any data.", or your Page is missing. Your profile isn't a Super admin or Content admin of it.
- On LinkedIn, open your Page and go to Settings → Manage admins. If you can't see Manage admins, you're not a Super admin.
- Ask a Super admin of the Page to give your profile the Super admin or Content admin role. LinkedIn explains how: Manage Page admins.
- Connect again.
If you can't get the role, invite the Page's Super admin to your team, or send them a Request channel connection, so they can connect the Page themselves.
"This channel already exists"
LinkedIn signed you in with a profile that's already connected. Click Log out from LinkedIn, log out there, then try again with the other profile. A private (incognito) window also works.
Posts to LinkedIn started failing
LinkedIn connections can expire, and a password change ends them. The channel shows Reconnect Required: see Reconnect a channel.
