Connect YouTube
On this page
You need: the Google account that is the Owner of the YouTube channel. You can check your role in YouTube Studio under Settings → Permissions.
Connect a YouTube channel
- Go to Channels → Connect channel and click the YouTube card (it shows the YouTube logo).
- The YouTube channel connect window explains that Robopost receives access to your Google and YouTube account, used under Google's API Services User Data Policy. Tick I have read and accept the above conditions, then click Connect.
- Google asks you to choose an account. Pick the Google account that owns the channel. If the channel belongs to a Brand Account, choose the Brand Account when Google offers it.
- Google lists what Robopost is asking for: manage your YouTube account and videos, upload videos, and view YouTube Analytics. Allow them.
- Robopost opens YouTube channel connect with the channels it found. Turn on the channel you want and click Connect.
"Successfully connected" appears, and the channel is listed in Channels → Channels.
Note
A YouTube channel can publish up to 10 posts a day by default. See Posting limits.
How can I check what access Robopost has to my YouTube channel?
- Open your Google Account's Third-party connections.
- Search for StackForward, the name Google shows for this app, and click it.
You'll see the access you granted. To revoke it, remove the connection there. Robopost then can't post to the channel until you connect it again.
Troubleshooting
My YouTube channel doesn't appear in the list
The list shows "We could not find any data.", or the channel is missing.
- You chose a Google account that doesn't own the channel. Connect again and pick the right account, or the Brand Account the channel belongs to.
- Your role on the channel isn't Owner. In YouTube Studio, open Settings → Permissions to check. Ask the current owner to make you an Owner, or invite them to your team (or send them a Request channel connection) so they connect it themselves.
Connect is grayed out
Tick I have read and accept the above conditions first.
"Connect error. There was an issue while trying to connect your account."
You cancelled, or didn't allow every permission on Google's screen. Connect again and allow them all.
Uploads started failing
The access may have been revoked or expired. See Reconnect a channel.
