Brands and sub teams
On this page
A sub team is a separate workspace that lives under your team. It has its own channels, posts, media, automations and members, so each client or brand stays apart from the others. People you invite to a sub team see only that sub team. The plans on the Subscription page call them brands; the rest of the app calls them Sub Teams.
| Plan | Sub teams (brands) |
|---|---|
| Free, Starter, Basic | None |
| Pro | Up to 3 |
| Agency | Unlimited |
The Lifetime Deal Pro and Lifetime Deal Agency plans include the same number as Pro and Agency.
You need: the Pro or Agency plan, and the Admin or Manage Team Properties right on your main team.
Create a sub team
- Switch to your main team. In the sidebar, under Account, click Team.
- Click See Sub Teams.
- Click Create New Sub Team.
- Enter the Brand (Team) Name.
- Optional: to invite people right away, click + under Invite User Emails (optional. you can invite them later) and enter an email address. Repeat for each person.
- Click Create Team.
The sub team appears as a card on the Sub Teams page. Every admin of your main team becomes an admin of the new sub team. The people you listed get an invitation email, with every right except Admin, Manage Billing, Manage Team Members and Manage Team Properties.
People invited this way start with no channels, because the sub team has none yet. Once the client's channels are connected, give each member access under Can access channels. See Limit a member to certain channels.
If you've reached your plan's number of sub teams, Robopost tells you how many you can create and how many you already have.
Switch between teams
- From the sidebar: open the team switcher at the top of the sidebar and pick a team. Sub teams are indented under the team they belong to and have a tag icon. Robopost opens New post in the team you picked.
- From the Sub Teams page: click Switch on a sub team's card.
Each team keeps its own channels and posts, so check the team name at the top of the page before you post.
When you switch into a sub team you aren't a member of yet, Robopost adds you to it as an admin. Members of your main team don't appear in the sub team's member list for the people who belong only to the sub team.
Invite people to a sub team
- Switch to the sub team.
- Open Team and click Invite Member.
- Choose their rights and channels, then click Invite.
It works the same as inviting to any team. See Team members and roles.
Change a sub team's settings
- On the Sub Teams page, click Settings on the sub team's card. Edit Sub Team, followed by the sub team's name, opens.
- Change what you need:
- Brand (Team) Name, and the team picture (click it to upload a new one).
- Documentation URL: where the Documentation link in the sub team's sidebar points. Leave it empty to use the built-in documentation.
- LiveChat Javascript Integration Code: a chat widget that replaces the contact button for this sub team.
- Usage Limits: see below.
- Custom Menu Links: extra links at the bottom of the sub team's sidebar, under a Custom Menu Title. Click + to add a link, then enter its Link Label and Link URL.
- Watermark Settings: add a watermark to this sub team's images and videos automatically.
- Click Save Changes. You see "Team updated successfully!"
Set usage limits for a sub team
Under Usage Limits you can cap what each sub team uses: Channels, Scheduled Posts / month, Automations, Team Members, Media, AI Credits / month, Generated Faceless Videos / month, Captioned Videos / month and Long to Shorts Videos / month.
- Each limit is a whole number from 0 up to the Account allowance shown under it, which is what your own plan includes.
- The monthly allowances are one pool shared by your main team and all its sub teams. A sub team's limit is a ceiling inside that pool, not extra allowance.
- Channels, members, media and automations are counted separately for each team.
Share posts with your sub teams
Put posts in a collection and share it with the sub teams you pick. They find it under Shared with my team and copy the posts into their own drafts. See Collections.
What sub team members see
- Only the sub team's own channels, posts and settings.
- No Subscription page: your main team pays for everything. Members with Admin or Manage Billing can open Plan Usage to see the sub team's usage and limits.
- If your main team's subscription stops being active, posting and scheduling stop in all its sub teams too. Their members see Account frozen with a request to contact their agency admin.
- They can't rename the sub team. You change the name in its settings.
Delete a sub team
- On the Sub Teams page, click Settings on the sub team's card.
- Click the red trash button at the top right of the card.
- Delete Team asks "Do you really want to delete this team? You cannot reverse this action." Click Yes.
The sub team and its invitations are deleted. Its members keep their access to any other team they belong to.
