Post WooCommerce products

On this page

A WooCommerce automation posts each new product from your store to your social channels, with its name, description, image and a link to the product page.

You need: your store's address and at least one connected channel. You don't need a WooCommerce API key, a consumer key or a plugin: Robopost reads your store's public product feed.

Set up a WooCommerce automation

  1. Click Posts → Automations (open it), then New Automation.
  2. Enter an Automation name, such as "New products to Instagram".
  3. Choose WooCommerce in Automation Type.
  4. In URL, paste your store's main address, for example https://your-store.com. Robopost reads the product feed at https://your-store.com/feed/?post_type=product.
  5. Switch on Let AI generate the post text (recommended) so each product gets a caption written for it, or write a Post Template such as New in: {title} {link}.
  6. Optional: switch on Let AI generate the post image or Let AI generate the post video (Beta). If you leave both off, Robopost uses the product's main image.
  7. Optional: switch on Enable Smart Filtering to post only some products (see below).
  8. Choose Post To and For Channels, then click Create Automation.

Post only some products

Switch on Enable Smart Filtering and describe which products to keep in Smart Filtering Instructions, for example "Only consider t-shirts" or "Only consider products related to shoes and perfume." The AI reads each product's name and description and skips the ones that don't match.

What do the posts look like?

In a template, {title} is the product name, {description} the product description and {link} the product page. With AI text, Robopost writes a short caption about the product in your chosen Voice Tone, with hashtags and emojis if you switched them on, and adds the product link.

The image is the product's main image unless you generate one. Instagram, Pinterest and TikTok need an image or a video, so a product without one is skipped for them. To make every product image the same shape, switch on Resize Image and pick a ratio such as 1:1 or 4:5.

For every other setting (hashtags, custom prompt, links on X, link shortening), see Post from an RSS feed.

Troubleshoot a WooCommerce automation

"Please check your URL". Open https://your-store.com/feed/?post_type=product in your browser. If you don't see a list of products, the store's feed may be switched off by a plugin, or the store may be behind a login or a maintenance page.

Old products were posted. When you create the automation, Robopost starts with the newest products already in the feed. Use Save as a Draft first if you want to choose which ones go out. See What happens right after I create it?

A product didn't get posted. Check Smart Filtering, and whether the product has an image if you post to Instagram, Pinterest or TikTok.
