Channel settings

On this page

You need: the Admin or Manage Channels right.

Each channel has its own settings page. Settings apply to every post published to that channel, so you set them once instead of in each post.

Open a channel's settings

  1. Go to Channels → Channels.
  2. Click Settings on the channel's card (or open the ⋮ menu and click Channel Settings).

The page, titled Update channel, shows the channel's name and icon. At the top right:

  • Copy ID copies the channel's ID, handy for developers and support.
  • The trash icon disconnects the channel: see Disconnect a channel.
  • For a self-hosted WordPress site, the wrench icon opens its WordPress Dashboard.

After changing anything below, click Update Channel. You'll see "Channel updated!".

Put the channel in a category

Under Update Channel Category, pick a Category, or clear it. A channel has at most one category. Create categories first in Channels → Categories: see Channel categories.

Advanced settings

Click Show Advanced Settings to open the rest.

Timezone Control Settings

Setting What it does
Enable Timezone Control and Timezone When you select this channel in the composer, the post's Timezone switches to this one. Useful for channels aimed at another region
Max Daily Posts The most posts Robopost publishes to this channel in 24 hours. It starts at the network's default (see Posting limits). Lower it to slow the channel down; the field shows the maximum if you go over
Post Signature Text added on a new line at the end of every post to this channel, such as a disclaimer or your usual hashtags. It's skipped if the post already contains it

Fill in any of UTM Source, UTM Medium, UTM Campaign, UTM Term and UTM Content. Robopost adds them to every link in posts published to this channel, so your analytics tool can tell where visits came from. All are optional.

A UTM value set on the post itself wins over the channel's default. The defaults also apply to the button and offer links of Google Business Profile posts and to links in WordPress posts.

Watermark settings

Turn on Auto apply watermark when posting to stamp your logo on every image and video published to this channel.

  1. Pick a Watermark position: Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left or Bottom Right.
  2. Click Upload Watermark and choose an image (JPG, PNG, WebP and similar, up to 10 MB), or pick one from your media library.
  3. Click Update Channel.

A team-wide watermark can also be set in Account → Team under Watermark Settings. When it's on, it applies to every channel; a logo and position uploaded here take its place for this channel. More about watermarks: Media.

Refresh the channel's connection

Under Refresh Channel Connection, click Refresh Channel Connection to renew Robopost's access to the account. It fixes connection problems and updates the channel's name and picture from the network. Facebook Group channels don't have this button. Step by step: Reconnect a channel.

Disconnect a channel

  1. Click the trash icon at the top right of the settings page, or open the ⋮ menu on the channel's card in Channels → Channels and click Disconnect.
  2. In Disconnect Social Media channel, click Yes.

Important

Disconnecting deletes the channel and all of its posts in Robopost: scheduled posts, drafts and published history. Posts already on the network stay there. The channel's settings are deleted too. To fix a broken connection, reconnect instead.
