Storage and history retention
On this page
Robopost cleans up expired history and unused files automatically to keep storage sustainable. The same rules apply to every plan.
You can open these rules in the app: in the sidebar, under Account, click Storage retention. The Published posts, Media and video pages also show a short notice with a View retention policy link.
How long is post history kept?
One year. Published post history expires 365 days after publication. Failed post history expires 365 days after its last update.
This removes the history from Robopost. It does not delete posts already published on your social networks.
How long are generated videos kept?
One year. Generated videos, captioned videos, clips, and other completed or failed video processing results expire after 365 days without an update. Work still in progress is kept.
What is kept?
Drafts, future-scheduled posts, recurring posts, reusable post collections, video series settings, and files saved in your Media Library are kept. A file used by another retained post or feature is also kept.
Files saved in your Media Library are preserved while they remain in the library, including files used by older posts.
When are files removed?
Expired history and its files are handled separately:
- Media from newly expired history has at least a seven-day grace period.
- Unused files must be at least 30 days old and pass a fresh usage check before deletion.
- Routine cleanup also waits seven days after identifying an unused file.
- Temporary rendering files are removed after seven days.
How do I keep a copy before it expires?
Download any post history or generated video you need before the one-year limit. To keep a media file available in the app, save it to your Media Library.
Important
The grace period is not a recovery feature, and files cannot be restored after deletion.
