Connect Zapier

On this page

With Zapier you can create a Robopost post whenever something happens in another app: a new RSS item, a new row in a spreadsheet, a new form entry. Zapier signs in to Robopost with an API key.

You need: a Zapier account and a Robopost API key (the first step below shows how to create one).

Create an API key for Zapier

  1. Click Account → Team in the sidebar (open it), then Manage API Keys.
  2. Click New API Key, give it a Name such as "Zapier" and click Create API Key.
  3. Click Copy Key on the new key. Keep it private: anyone with the key can post as your team.

More about keys in Authentication.

Build a Zap that creates posts

The labels below are Zapier's and may change on their side.

  1. In Zapier, create a Zap and set up its trigger, for example RSS by Zapier with your feed address. Run the trigger test to load a sample item.
  2. Add an action, search for the Robopost app and choose the Create Post event.
  3. When Zapier asks you to sign in to Robopost, paste the API key you copied and click Continue.
  4. Configure the post: pick the destination channels and map the trigger's fields (title, link, image) into the post.
  5. Test the action, or click Skip test.
  6. Click Publish to turn the Zap on.

Each run of the Zap sends a post to Robopost, where it's published like any post you create yourself.

Tip

To share an RSS feed, a blog or a store, a Robopost automation does it without Zapier and can write the caption with AI. See Automations overview.

Disconnect Zapier

Turn the Zap off in Zapier, or delete its API key in Manage API Keys. Once the key is deleted, Zapier can no longer create posts.
