Connect a channel

On this page

You need: the Admin or Manage Channels right in your team.

A channel is one place Robopost publishes to: one Facebook Page, one Instagram account, one Pinterest board, one Google Business Profile location, one WordPress site. Connect as many as your plan allows, including several accounts on the same network.

Open the Connect channel screen

Click Channels → Connect channel in the sidebar, or Connect channel on the Channels page. The screen, titled Connect social media channel, shows one card per network. Click a card to start.

  1. Robopost sends you to the network (or opens a form, for Bluesky, Telegram and WordPress self-hosted).
  2. You sign in and approve the permissions Robopost asks for.
  3. Back in Robopost, you pick the Pages, boards, channels or locations to add, if the network has several, and click Connect.
  4. "Successfully connected" appears and the channel is listed in Channels → Channels with a Connected badge.

How many channels can I connect?

Each Page, account, board, location or site you switch on counts as one channel.

Plan Channels
Free 3
Starter 3
Basic 10
Pro Unlimited
Agency Unlimited

Lifetime deals follow the plan they're named after: Lifetime Deal Starter 3, Lifetime Deal Basic 10, Lifetime Deal Pro and Agency unlimited. Channels are counted per team: each brand's channels count in that brand. See how many you use in Account → Plan Usage.

When you reach the limit, Robopost shows Plan Limit Hit or "You can only add up to … channels with your current plan, and have already connected … channels." Disconnect a channel you no longer need, or upgrade: Plans and billing.

Connect several accounts on the same network

Repeat the steps for each account. Networks remember who you're signed in as, so before connecting the next account:

  1. Sign out of the network in your browser (or open a private/incognito window).
  2. Go back to Connect channel and click the card again.
  3. Sign in with the other account.

If you see This channel already exists, the network signed you in with an account that's already connected. Use the Log out from … button in that window, then try again.

Let someone else connect their account

When a client or colleague owns the account, they can connect it without giving you their password.

  1. On the Connect channel screen, click Request channel connection (top right).
  2. Enter their email address and click Confirm.

They receive an email from you, "… requested you to connect your social accounts", with a link to log in and connect.

Important

If that email address isn't a member of your team and has no pending invitation, Robopost also invites it to your team with the Admin right, so they can connect channels. Change their rights afterward in Account → Team if they need less: see Invite your team.

What Robopost shows when a channel needs attention

If a network stops accepting Robopost's connection (for example after you change your password), the channel shows Reconnect Required and a red banner appears at the top of many screens. Fix it in a minute without losing anything: Reconnect a channel.
