# Tags

A tag is a colored label you put on posts to find them later, for example "Black Friday" or
"Client A". Tags stay inside Robopost: they're not hashtags and never appear in the published post. For
hashtags, see [Hashtag groups](https://dash.robopost.app/docs/posts/hashtag-groups.md).

**You need:** the **Manage Tags** right (or **Admin**) to manage tags under **Tools → Tags**. Anyone who
can post can pick existing tags in the composer.

## Create a tag

1. In the sidebar, open **Tools → Tags** ([Tags](https://dash.robopost.app/post-tags)).
2. Click **New post tag**.
3. Enter a **Tag name** and pick a **Tag Color**. The **Preview** shows how it will look.
4. Click **Add tag**.

You can also create a tag while writing a post: in the composer's **Post Tags** card, click **+**, fill in
**Create Tag** and save.

## Tag a post

In the [composer](https://dash.robopost.app/docs/posts/create-a-post.md), pick one or more tags in **Post Tags**. You can also add tags
to many posts at once when you [import a CSV file](https://dash.robopost.app/docs/posts/csv-bulk-import.md), with **Select Tags** and
**Set to all posts**.

## Find posts by tag

In [Scheduled posts](https://dash.robopost.app/posts-scheduled), [Published posts](https://dash.robopost.app/posts-published) or
[Draft posts](https://dash.robopost.app/posts-drafts), click **Filters**, pick tags in **Post Tags** and click **Search**. A published
post's page also lists its tags.

## Rename, recolor or delete a tag

On the [Tags](https://dash.robopost.app/post-tags) page:

- Click **Edit** on the tag's card, change its name or color and click **Update tag**.
- To delete it, open the card's **⋮** menu, choose **Delete** and confirm with **Yes**. The posts themselves
  are not deleted.
