# Recurring posts and collections

Robopost can keep posting for you on a schedule. Pick the tool that matches what you want to repeat.

**You need:** at least one connected channel. For collections, the **Admin** or **Manage Post Collections** right;
for a Channel automation, the **Admin** or **Manage Automation** right and a connected Facebook Page.

## Which one do I need?

| You want to | Use |
| --- | --- |
| Publish the same post again and again | A recurring post |
| Rotate through a library of posts (tips, quotes, products) | A collection with a posting schedule |
| Collect new blog articles or products and post them on your schedule | A feed automation with **Post to Collections** |
| Copy every new post of a Facebook Page to your other channels | A **Channel** automation |
| Publish a new AI video on a schedule | A [faceless video series](https://dash.robopost.app/docs/ai/faceless-videos.md) |

## Repeat a single post

In the composer, choose **Later** under the schedule, then switch on **Recurring post?**. Pick an **Interval** and,
optionally, **Recurring until a specified date?**. Two AI options keep repeats fresh:

- **Rephrase post after first iteration using AI**, with a **Voice Tone**.
- **Generate a new image after first iteration using AI**, with an **AI Model**.

The full walkthrough is in [Schedule and repeat posts](https://dash.robopost.app/docs/posts/schedule-and-repeat.md).

## Post from a collection on a schedule

A collection is a set of posts. Turn on its schedule and Robopost publishes one of its posts at every slot, each to the
channels chosen on that post.

1. Click **Posts → Collections** ([open it](https://dash.robopost.app/post-collections)) and click **Settings** on a collection, or
**New post collection** to start one.
2. Switch on **Regularly post from the collection?**.
3. Choose a **Posting Strategy**:
   - **A random post in each iteration.**
   - **Post in order. Restart from the beginning once all posts are exhausted.**
   - **Post in order. Wait until the next post once all posts are exhausted.** With this one you can also switch on
     **Delete post after posting**.
4. Set the **Timezone**, the **Next posting date** and the **Posting interval**.
5. Optional: switch on **Post until a specified date** and pick the end date.
6. Optional: switch on **Rephrase post on every iteration using AI** and choose a **Voice Tone**, so repeats don't
   read exactly the same.
7. Click **Update collection** (or **Add collection** for a new one).

To stop the schedule, open **Settings** again, switch off **Regularly post from the collection?** and save. The posts
stay in the collection. Adding posts and ordering them is covered in [Collections](https://dash.robopost.app/docs/posts/collections.md).

### Which posting intervals can I choose?

| Posting interval | Publishes |
| --- | --- |
| **Every day, at specific time slots** | Every day at the times you pick |
| **Every week, at specific time slots** | On the days and times you pick |
| **Every 3 hours**, **Every 6 hours**, **Every 12 hours** | At that interval from the next posting date |
| **Daily**, **Weekly**, **Monthly**, **Yearly** | Once per period, at the time of the next posting date |

## Send new feed items into a collection

Any feed, blog or store automation can feed a collection instead of posting right away. Set **Post To** to
**Post to Collections** and pick one or more collections in **Post Collections**. Each new item is added to every
collection you picked, and the collection's schedule decides when it's published. This spreads a burst of new
articles or products over your own posting times. See [Automations overview](https://dash.robopost.app/docs/automations/automations-overview.md).

## Copy new Facebook Page posts to other channels

A **Channel** automation watches one of your Facebook Pages and copies each new post it publishes to your other
channels.

1. Click **Posts → Automations** ([open it](https://dash.robopost.app/automations)), then **New Automation**.
2. Enter an **Automation name** and choose **Channel** in **Automation Type**.
3. In **Source Channel**, pick the Facebook Page to copy from. Only Facebook Pages can be a source.
4. Choose **Post To**: **Directly post to Channels**, **Save as a Draft** or **Post to Collections**.
5. In **For Channels**, pick where the copies go. The source Page can't be one of them.
6. Click **Create Automation**.

The card shows **Initializing...** until the first check. After that, Robopost checks the Page every few minutes.

What gets copied: the post's text, its link (added to the end of the text), its main image and its video. Posts with
none of these are skipped. As with feed automations, Instagram, Pinterest and TikTok get a copy only if it has an
image or a video, and Google Business Profile gets a **Learn more** button when the post has a link.

> **Note:** With **Directly post to Channels**, only Page posts published after you create the automation are copied.
> With **Save as a Draft** or **Post to Collections**, the first check also brings in the Page's recent posts, so you
> can choose which to reuse.

Pause, edit or delete a Channel automation like any other: see
[Pause, edit or delete an automation](https://dash.robopost.app/docs/automations/automations-overview.md#pause-edit-or-delete-an-automation).

## Troubleshoot repeating posts

**A collection isn't posting.** Check that **Regularly post from the collection?** is on, that the collection has
posts, and that the **Next posting date** is in the future. With **Post in order. Wait until the next post once all
posts are exhausted.**, the schedule waits once every post has gone out: add new posts to continue.

**A Channel automation isn't copying.** Make sure the source Facebook Page is still connected (reconnect it if needed:
see [Reconnect a channel](https://dash.robopost.app/docs/channels/reconnect-a-channel.md)) and that the automation shows **enabled**.

**I can't drag a recurring post in the calendar.** Recurring posts and collection schedules can't be moved by
dragging. Click the event and change it in the form instead.
