# Create faceless videos

A faceless video is a short, narrated video made entirely by AI: a script, a voiceover, pictures that match each
sentence, captions and background music. You describe what the videos are about once, in a **video series**, and
Robopost can make a new video from it whenever you ask, or on a schedule, and post it for you.

**You need:** the **Admin** or **Manage AI Videos** right, and videos left in your **Generated Faceless Videos**
allowance. To post automatically, connect the channels first, such as TikTok, YouTube or Instagram.

## Create a video series

1. Click **Content → Videos by AI** ([open it](https://dash.robopost.app/video-ai)). On **Faceless Video Generator**, click **Open App**.
2. On the **Video Series** tab, click **Add Video Series**.
3. Fill in the series (see the table below). Required fields have a red star.
4. Optional: switch on **Generate First Video Now** to start the first video right away.
5. Click **Create**.

| Field | What to enter |
| --- | --- |
| **Name** | A name for the series |
| **Content Type** | What the videos are about, such as **Scary Stories**, **Fun Facts**, **Motivational**, **Product Marketing** or **Custom** |
| **Instructions / Content** | For **Custom** and **Product Marketing**: what each video should cover, or your script |
| **Format** | **Portrait** (TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Reels), **Widescreen** or **Square** |
| **Style** | The look of the pictures, such as **Realism**, **Anime**, **Watercolor** or **Comic** |
| **Image model** | **Z Image** or **FLUX**, the AI that draws the pictures |
| **Max Duration** | **30 to 60 seconds** or **60 to 90 seconds** |
| **Voice** | A built-in voice or [your own cloned voice](https://dash.robopost.app/docs/ai/ai-voices.md). Click the speaker button to hear a sample |
| **Background Music** | On or off, and which music: see [Background music](https://dash.robopost.app/docs/ai/background-music.md) |
| **Language** | The language of the script and voiceover. 37 languages are available |

The content types are **Random AI Story**, **Scary Stories**, **Bedtime Stories**, **Interesting History**,
**Urban Legends**, **Motivational**, **Fun Facts**, **Long Form Jokes**, **Life Pro Tips**,
**Explain Like I'm 5 (ELI5)**, **Did you know?**, **Philosophy**, **Recipes**, **Fitness**, **Beauty**,
**Growth Advice**, **Product Marketing** and **Custom**.

### Write your own script or topic

With **Custom** or **Product Marketing**, describe the topic in **Instructions / Content** and the AI writes a new
script for every video, avoiding topics the series has already covered. Two more options appear:

- **Stick to your custom script** (**Custom** only): the voiceover reads your text exactly as written.
- **Use knowledge base**: the AI draws on a [knowledge base](https://dash.robopost.app/docs/ai/knowledge-bases.md) you pick in
**Select knowledge base**, for example your product catalog.

### Fine-tune with advanced settings

Click **Show advanced settings** to change:

- **Prevent text in video**: keeps written words out of the AI pictures.
- **Captions prefix (optional)** and **Captions suffix (optional)**: text added before or after the caption Robopost
writes for the social post, such as fixed hashtags or a call to action.
- **Splash screen at start (optional)**: click **Upload** to open every video with your own intro.
- **Advanced Caption Settings**: switch **Captions** off, or choose the **Caption Style** (**Bold Highlight**,
**Boxed Readable**, **Clean Modern**, **Neon Pop**, **Impact Punch**, **Classic Legacy**), font size and color,
stroke, shadow, **Highlight Current Word**, padding and **Caption Position**.
- **Advanced audio settings**: **Narration Volume** and **Background Music Volume**.

## Generate a video

On the **Video Series** tab, click **Generate Video** on a series card (or in its **⋮** menu) and click **Confirm**.
Robopost shows **Please wait while we generate the video. This process may take up to 20 minutes.** You can leave the
page: your team gets an email when the video is ready.

Finished videos appear on the **Short Videos** tab and are also saved to your **Media** library.

## Use a finished video

On the **Short Videos** tab, each video shows its series and the caption Robopost wrote for it:

- **Schedule** (or **Schedule Post** in the **⋮** menu) opens the composer with the video and caption filled in.
- The download button, or **Download** in the **⋮** menu, saves the MP4 to your computer.
- **Copy Link** in the **⋮** menu copies a link to the file.

Since every video is also in your **Media** library, you can attach it to any post from there.

## Post new videos automatically

A series can make and publish videos on its own. Open the series (**⋮ → Series Settings**) or create a new one, then:

1. Switch on **Create a Video at Regular Intervals**.
2. Under **Recurring Options**, choose the **Timezone**, the **Recurring Interval** (from
**Every day, at specific time slots** to **Yearly**) and the **Next Posting Date**.
3. Optional: switch on **Recurring Until Date** and set the **Until Date**.
4. Switch on **Create Post to Social Accounts**. Under **Post Scheduling Options**, choose **Post To**
(**Directly post to Channels**, **Save as a Draft** or **Post to Collections**) and the **Channels** or
   **Post Collections**.
5. Click **Update** (or **Create**).

Each new video is then posted with its caption: as a Reel on Instagram, as a Short with a title and description on
YouTube, and as a video post everywhere else. The series card shows its schedule.

To stop, open **Series Settings**, switch off **Create a Video at Regular Intervals** and click **Update**.

## Edit, copy or delete a series

From the **⋮** menu on a series card:

- **Series Settings** opens the series to change any field. Click **Update** to save.
- **Copy Series** asks for a **Series Name** and creates a copy, a quick way to try another voice or style.
- **Delete Series** removes the series after you click **Confirm Delete**. Videos already made stay in your
  **Media** library.

## More AI video tools

**Content → Videos by AI** has three more tools. Open each one with **Open App** on its card.

### Turn a blog post into a video

On **Blog to Video**, click **Create Video**, paste the article's address in **URL**, and pick the **Format**,
**Style**, **Voice**, **Language** and music. Set the caption's word count, hashtags and emojis under
**Text Generation Options**, then click **Create**. You get a narrated video about the article with a caption; click
**Create Post** to schedule it.

### Add captions to a video

On **Add Captions to a Video**, upload your video, choose the **Caption Style**, colors and position, and click
**Add Captions**. When the **Captioned Video** is ready, download it, click **Save as Media**, or click **Schedule**.

### Cut a long video into shorts

On **Convert Long Videos to Shorts**, upload a long video and set the **Number of Shorts** (up to 20), the
**Min Clip Duration (seconds)** and **Max Clip Duration (seconds)** and the **Format**. Switch on
**Add captions to generated shorts** if you want subtitles, then click **Generate Shorts**. Each short under
**Generated Shorts** can be downloaded, saved to Media or scheduled; **Download ZIP** downloads them all.

Adding captions and converting to shorts can take 10 to 60 minutes, depending on the video's length.

## How many videos can I make?

Each finished video counts once toward your plan's monthly allowance in **Account → Plan Usage**:
**Generated Faceless Videos** (series, **Blog to Video**, and videos made by automations), **Captioned Videos** and
**Long to Shorts Videos**. A video that fails doesn't count. If you need more faceless videos, buy extra with
**Buy Credits** on **Plan Usage**; purchased credits carry over. See [Usage and limits](https://dash.robopost.app/docs/account/usage-and-limits.md).

## Troubleshoot faceless videos

**"Plan Limit Hit" when generating.** You've used your video allowance for this period. Wait for it to reset or buy
credits.

**The video hasn't appeared after 20 minutes.** Refresh the **Short Videos** tab. If it still isn't there, generate
it again; a failed video doesn't use your allowance.

**My series switched to Alice.** The custom voice it used was deleted, so Robopost moved the series to the built-in
voice **Alice**. Pick another voice in **Series Settings**.

**A video wasn't posted.** Check the post in **Scheduled posts** or **Published posts** for an error, and see
[Why did my post fail?](https://dash.robopost.app/docs/posts/why-did-my-post-fail.md)
