# AI assistant

Robopost's AI can write captions, suggest hashtags, fix spelling, turn an image, a video, a web page or your own
documents into ready-to-post ideas, generate images, and produce narrated short videos.

**You need:** nothing extra to start. AI features are part of your plan; some of them count against a monthly
allowance (see [How many AI credits do I have?](#how-many-ai-credits-do-i-have)).

## What can the AI do, and where?

## Generate posts from an image, a video, a URL or a prompt

Click **Posts → New post** ([open it](https://dash.robopost.app/new-post)). Under **AI-Powered Creation**, pick **From Images**,
**From Video**, **From URL**, **From Prompt** or **From Knowledge Base**. Give the AI its source, adjust the word
count, tone, hashtags and emojis, and click **Generate Posts**. Each idea has a **Create Post** button that opens it

## Write a caption in the composer

1. In the composer, click the magic wand button (its tooltip reads **Compose Text with AI**).
2. In **What type of post would you like to compose?**, describe the post, for example "announce our summer sale,
   20% off all shoes until Sunday."
3. Choose **Include Emojis**, **Include Hashtags**, the **Approximate Word Count** and the **Voice Tone**.
4. Optional: switch on **Use knowledge base** and pick one in **Select knowledge base**, so the AI uses your own
   information.
5. Click **Generate suggestion**. Not happy? Change the description and generate again.
6. Click **Copy to clipboard** and paste the text into your post.

The AI writes in the language of your description.

## Fix spelling and grammar

In the composer, click the spell-check button (its tooltip reads **Check Spelling**). The **Spell Checker** window
shows a corrected version; click **Apply Fix** to replace your text with it.

## Get hashtag suggestions

In the composer, click the hashtag button (**Insert Hashtag**). The **Hashtags** window opens on **AI Suggestions**,
with hashtags based on your text and your first image. Click **Confirm** to add them to the post. The **Hashtag Groups** tab inserts your saved groups

## How many AI credits do I have?

**Account → Plan Usage** ([open it](https://dash.robopost.app/plan-usage)) shows your monthly allowances. The AI-related ones:

| Allowance | What uses it |
| --- | --- |
| **AI Credits** | One per post idea run (however many ideas it returns), including **Blog to Video** |
| **Generated Faceless Videos** | One per finished video: series, **Blog to Video** and automations |
| **Captioned Videos** | One per video finished with **Add Captions to a Video** |
| **Long to Shorts Videos** | One per video finished with **Convert Long Videos to Shorts** |

Each allowance resets on the date shown on **Plan Usage**. If you've used one up, Robopost shows **Plan Limit Hit**
instead of starting the job. Video credits you buy with **Buy Credits** on **Plan Usage** carry over from

## Who can use the AI tools?

Anyone who can create posts can use the composer's AI buttons and **Post Ideas by AI**. **Videos by AI** needs the
**Admin** or **Manage AI Videos** right, and **AI Assets** (knowledge bases, voices, music) needs **Admin** or
