# Profile and login

Your profile holds the settings that are yours alone: your name and picture, language, theme, notification emails,
and how you log in. Team settings live on the **Team** page instead.

**You need:** to be logged in.

## Update your profile

1. In the sidebar, under **Account**, click **Profile**. You can also click your picture at the top right and
   choose **Profile**.
2. Change any of these fields in the **Profile** card:
   - **Display Name**: shown to your team members.
   - Country.
   - Theme: **Light Theme** or **Dark Theme**.
   - Language of the app: English, Français, 日本語, 中文, Español, Deutsch or Română.
   - Time zone: used for your notification hours (see below).
3. Click **Update**. The page reloads with your changes.

To change your picture, click the round picture at the top of the page and upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image of up
to 10 MB. You can crop it before saving.

> **Note:** Each post has its own time zone, which you pick in the composer. It starts with your browser's time
> zone, not your profile's. See [Schedule and repeat posts](https://dash.robopost.app/docs/posts/schedule-and-repeat.md).

## Choose which emails you get

Robopost sends system notifications by email: summaries of posts that were published or couldn't be posted, billing
emails such as payment confirmations and receipts, usage limit warnings and newly generated videos.

- To stop them, turn off **Enable system notifications** and click **Update**. This also stops billing emails.
- To get them only during your working hours, set **Accept notifications from** and **Accept notifications to**.
The times use your profile's time zone. Notifications that come up outside these hours are sent once the window
  opens.

Emails you need to act on, such as team invitations, email verification and password resets, aren't affected.

## Change your email address

1. On your **Profile**, click the button with the circular arrows next to your email address. **Change Email**
   opens.
2. Enter your **New Email Address**.
3. If you log in with a password, enter your **Current Password**. If you log in with Google, confirm in the Google
   window that opens.
4. Click **Update Email**. You see "Your email has been changed successfully!"
5. Open the verification email sent to your new address and click the link. Until you do, the login page asks you
   to verify your email.

Your teams, channels and posts stay as they were. Only the address you log in with changes.

If you see "The password you entered is incorrect." or "The email address is invalid.", check the field and try
again.

## Change your password

1. On your **Profile**, find the **Update Password** card.
2. Enter your **Current Password**, your **New Password** and **Confirm New Password**. A password must be between
   6 and 255 characters.
3. Click **Update**. You see "Password has been updated successfully."

If the card says "You logged in with Google. You cannot update your password.", your account has no Robopost
password. You log in with your Google account, and you manage that password with Google.

## Reset a forgotten password

1. On the login page, click **Forgot Password?**
2. Enter your email address and click **Send an email**.
3. Open the email and follow the link to choose a new password.

To get in without a password, click **Login with Email Link** on the login page, enter your email and click
**Send Login Link**. Then click the link in the email.

## Ways to log in

- **Email and password**: enter both and click **Log in**. New accounts must confirm their email address first. If
the email didn't arrive, click **Send validation link again** and check your spam folder.
- **Sign in with Google**: uses your Google account. Some custom domains don't offer it.
- **Login with Email Link**: Robopost emails you a login link.

## Log out

Click your picture at the top right and choose **Log out**.

To close your account for good, use **Delete my account** at the bottom of your **Profile**. Read
[Delete your account](https://dash.robopost.app/docs/account/delete-your-account.md) first.
